Master Qiao Zhengquan
Master Qiao Zhengquan is a designated Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritor of Emei Wushu, an A-Class Traditional Martial Arts Referee, and the founder of the Kung Fu Emei brand. Born in 1973 into a martial arts family in Chongqing, he trained from early childhood under folk masters Tang Yuncheng and He Zhengxi. Over three decades of deep immersion and practice, Master Qiao synthesized various lineages into the defining philosophy of Emei Wushu: “Dynamic rhythm, internal softness, and alert tranquility” (刚柔顿挫,动静虚灵).

A Lifelong Journey at Mount Emei
Driven by a childhood dream to train at the source of the discipline, Master Qiao served as head coach of the Dezhou Emei Martial Arts School at age 18 before arriving at Mount Emei in 1997. At age 24, he established his first martial arts academy at the historic Zhongfeng Temple, dedicating nearly three decades to research, instruction, and institutional development. Over the years, he organized key cultural landmarks, including the erection of the Situ Xuankong statue—honoring the historical founder of Emei Wushu—and produced the long-running live cultural performance Kung Fu Emei.
Global Reach and Cultural Exchange
Master Qiao expanded Emei Wushu far beyond local training halls by engaging worldwide audiences:
- International Lineages: Traveled to Germany (Frankfurt, Freiburg, Stuttgart) to conduct masterclasses, establishing international branch academies and training disciples across more than 50 countries.
- Public Outreach: Hosted over 200,000 domestic and international students and visitors; since 2017, he has provided daily free introductions, etiquette workshops, and basic movements to tourists outside Baoguo Temple.
- World Martial Arts Home: Founded an international communications wing in 2024, partnering with overseas cultural groups to establish the World Martial Arts Home initiative headquartered at Zhongfeng Temple.
Medicine, Media, and Innovation
Blending traditional disciplines with contemporary applications, Master Qiao spearheaded the research and crafting of authentic Emei swords and partnered with the Sichuan Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences to develop herbal wellness formulas like the Lingzhi Recovery Balm. His demonstrations have been featured across mainstream media, including CCTV, Xinhua News, military combat instruction films, and major documentaries highlighting the enduring spirit of Chinese martial arts.
